10 Tips to make the most of Convenience U CARWACS

We know you are as excited as we are for the Calgary Convenience U CARWACS Show! It’s the perfect opportunity for all industry players to gather under one roof to exchange valuable information and learn about industry trends.

This year, October 19-20, at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park in Calgary, manufacturers, distributors and retailers will gather to partake in the biggest and best c-gas and car wash show in the west. Be prepared: Make the most of the show with these 10 tips.

1. Do your research. Find out what seminars will be presented and who will be exhibiting ahead of time. Check out the show website for a complete listing of guest speakers and exhibitors.

2. Arrive early. Avoid line ups by showing up in advance. Also, beating the crowd will give you a chance to orient yourself and see where the exhibitors you want to see are located.

3. Have a plan of action. There will be a lot going on at the show. Avoid feeling overwhelmed and make sure you get the best use of your time by identifying which seminars you want to attend and which suppliers you need to speak to before getting to the show.

4. Pre-register for seminars. Some seminars may fill up early, so make sure you get a spot by registering in advance.

5. Take advantage of the education.  This is a great opportunity to learn from the experts. Seminars can help you improve your bottom line.

6. Spend time with suppliers.  You have a rare opportunity to meet with suppliers face to face. Leverage their knowledge by asking questions about what types of equipment and chemicals are best for your site’s needs.

7. Speak to other operators. This event brings together many independents. Use this rare opportunity to pick competitors’ brains on how they run their businesses. Other operators can be valuable sources of insight.

8. Bring your team. Bring any employee who has buying influence, or who interacts with your customers on a regular basis. They will be able to help you make informed decisions about what areas of your operation need an upgrade.

9. Information is gold. Keep any promotional materials or literature you receive from suppliers. It can come in handy when you are evaluating offerings later on.

10. Book your hotel ahead of time.  There will be thousands of attendees flocking to the show, so make sure you reserve your hotel rooms early before hotels in the area fill up.
