Matthew Ellis joins CICC as VP, Government and Stakeholder Relations

Matthew Ellis joins the CICC.

The Convenience Industry Council of Canada recently announced the appointment of Matthew Ellis as its VP, Government and Stakeholder Relations.




Ellis is from Prince Edward Island and brings with him almost 20 years of experience as a senior advisor to elected officials at all levels of government. He has worked at Parliament Hill and Queens Park, as well as other provincial legislatures, city halls, and on political campaigns across the country.




 In 2012, Ellis returned to Prince Edward Island, where he opened a successful quick service restaurant and launched his political consultancy and government relations firm. In 2018, he returned to Toronto as a senior associate with the boutique government relations firm, Stosic & Associates.



 In an announcement, CICC said Ellis will "focus on developing and supporting a strategic government and stakeholder relations program that advances the CICC's objectives and reputation."



He will be responsible for overseeing coordinated regional advocacy efforts in the provinces, with assistance from local representatives in each region. In addition, he will provide analysis and strategic advice, planning and coordinating activities at a federal level.
