The 23rd World Petroleum Congress is postponed until 2021 due to concerns about COVID-19
The event was to take place December 6-10, 2020 in Houston, but is now slated for December 5-9, 2021.
Held once every three years, the event attracts industry and government leaders from around the world, including government heads of state and ministers of energy.
The 23rd World Petroleum Congress features the theme: Innovative Energy Solutions. Programming and presentations are being designed to “unite visionary strategies with tactics and technologies across the energy value chain, from upstream to downstream, to progress the goal of sustainable energy for all.”
Calgary is to host the World Petroleum Congress in 2023
The World Petroleum Congress Canada calls the event the “Olympics of oil and gas,” noting it is expected to bring in an estimated 5,000 delegates to the city.
WPC Canada said the congress is expected to include more than 100 national delegations, 700 expert speakers, 500 CEOs, 800 media, and 400 exhibiting companies.
