
The event is two-fold – it celebrates the nation’s convenience industry, while also supporting communities by raising fund for Make-A-Wish Canada (formerly Children’s Wish Canada).
In a note to members, CICC said: “More than ever, now is the time to celebrate the stores that have remained open from the start of the pandemic to supply essentials and basic groceries, and the frontline store staff that showed up to serve their communities.”
In 2019, more than 200 community leaders and 2,400 stores coast to coast celebrated this industry and raised more than $180,000 – enough to support 18 wishes – for Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
