What do you like most about your job?

We work in a very fast-paced environment that really allows me to continue learning and developing my skill set every day. There is always something new to learn and be challenged by. Tied with that is the people I get to work alongside and learn from. Having exposure to team members and leaders within all parts of the industry, internal and external, I have had great opportunities to meet and learn from a lot of different people.

What  work-related accomplishment are you most proud of during the last 12-18 months?

I am probably most proud of the progress I have made within the car wash category. It is a large category, with many nuances to be discovered, but over the last 12 months putting process and strategies in place to  help grow the business. Most recently we launched car wash functionality within the Journie app, allowing customers to purchase and redeem carwashes all from the ease of their cell phone.

What was the biggest challenge of your career?

Being agile and adapting to change. It is a skill I am continuing to develop but working in an industry that moves fast comes with challenges and opportunities. It has taught me a lot about prioritization for myself and my team, and also the need to be open and curious about change.

What excites you most about the future of this channel?

It is ever evolving and changing with our customer needs. We are able to be flexible and agile to offer customers what they want and need while providing a community destination that can withstand the changes and challenges the last few years have thrown at us.

What trends or innovation are keeping an eye on right now. What do you think will shape the business in the next five years?

I believe digital adoption will continue to grow over the next five years with a new generation growing up to be our core customer base, they will seek access convenience in a new way. Being accessible to these customers on digital platforms and competition with other retail will be important to keep driving the industry ahead.

Anything else you would like to add?

I am thankful for the leaders and mentors I have had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from throughout all stages of my career. Having leaders and peers who encourage mentorship and personal development are really important to fostering growth in people new to the industry.
