The ACSA promotes c-store excellence
Take a few minutes out of your day to watch the video above, which highlights an exciting and important day for c-stores in Atlantic Canada. Convenience Store Day has grown since 2012, and this year, 7 locations, 9 stores and 48 politicians got involved to raise awareness about what it’s like to be a convenience store owner, operator and employee.
On November 6, the Atlantic Convenience Stores Association (ACSA) held its fifth annual Retail Convenience Awards in Halifax, NS, sponsored by Atlantic Lottery.
The industry gathered to celebrate the companies and individuals who exemplify and promote excellence in the industry.
Twenty-one finalists were nominated in seven categories. Here are this year’s winners:
Independent Convenience Store Operator of the Year: Fred Saoud of Big General Store in Halifax, Nova Scotia
Corporate Operator of the Year, 2013: Margie Boone of Kenmount Corner Store in St. John’s, NL

Industry Partner (Regulatory) Award: Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission
Industry Partner Award: PepsiCo Beverages Canada

“All of the finalists are winners in my book" said Mike Hammoud, president of the ACSA. "We were so pleased to have had so many great companies and individuals to choose from.”
