From the archives: Actor Jack Nicholson prophetic on hydrogen

More than 40 years ago, actor Jack Nicholson told CBC’s Marketplace about a new car technology that would remove 58% of air pollutants from the world’s cities. The car was a 1978 Chevrolet, and it was fuelled by hydrogen. At the event, Nicholson jumped behind the wheel and drove the car forward and backward before telling the assembled group that his associates planned a chain of hydrogen fuelling sites that would revolutionize transportation. The group planned a 16-acre solar cell facility in the California/Nevada desert to produce clean hydrogen (now called green hydrogen).
