Celebration will honour industry heroes and support Make-A-Wish Canada.
8/3/2021

Get ready for a week of celebration and giving back! National Convenience Week, led by the Convenience Industry Council of Canada, kicks off August 30 and runs until September 3, 2021.

At the core of this weeklong celebration of the convenience channel, is a commitment to community: CICC retail members and politicians across the country are raising funds for Make-A-Wish Canada.

In 2019, National Convenience Week activities raised $180,000 for then Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada Provincial Chapters and efforts continued in 2020, despite the pandemic, with virtual efforts raising more than $75,000 for Make-A-Wish.

In addition, CICC is taking the opportunity to honour the industry's front-line heroes, who, during the pandemic, went above and beyond to assist Canadians and make an impact on their community.

As an essential service, the c-store industry, from retailers to wholesalers, played an integral role in helping communities navigate pandemic lockdowns.

“Where convenience and communities come together is more than just a tag line, it embodies what our industry is all about. Giving back to communities is a part of the DNA of the convenience industry,” says Anne Kothawala, president & CEO of CICC. “National Convenience Week is an opportunity to showcase to politicians the pivotal role the industry plays in supporting communities across the country while raising funds for Make-A-Wish Canada.”

National Convenience Week: August 30 - September 3, 2021.
