Community Impact Rabba 2026

A staple in the Greater Toronto Area for nearly 60 years, Rabba Fine Foods has transitioned from a local grocer into a vital community partner. Through its Rabba Roots Community Giving Program, the company fulfills its “Here for You” promise by supporting vulnerable residents with food, healthcare and emergency services.

Addressing food insecurity is a central pillar of Rabba Roots. A dedicated partnership with Second Harvest rescues and redistributes 25,000 pounds of surplus food annually. This effort is bolstered by a long-standing relationship with Food Banks Mississauga, ensuring local families receive a consistent supply of essential goods.

Rabba also prioritizes dignity for Toronto’s most vulnerable. For over a decade, the company and its vendors have hosted a signature Super Bowl party at Good Shepherd Ministries. To mark the 10th anniversary, Rabba provided over 100 guests with a gourmet feast, creating a meaningful moment of connection for those experiencing homelessness.

The company’s impact on healthcare is equally profound. A supporter of Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF) since 1995, Rabba recently solidified this legacy with a $250,000 pledge over 10 years to fund critical hospital departments and specialized services. Furthermore, Rabba directs 100% of proceeds from its 14 in-store Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaigns to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

From distributing gift cards to front-line staff to supporting grassroots groups, Rabba Roots remains a reliable force for good. By weaving financial investment with compassionate care, Rabba Fine Foods continues to build a healthier, more resilient future for the diverse neighbourhoods it serves.

"At Rabba Fine Foods, our foundational goal has always been to be more than just a 24/7 convenience store; we strive to be a dependable neighbour. Our community service initiatives—particularly through our Rabba Roots program—are a natural extension of that neighbourhood market identity. Giving back isn't an add-on to our business strategy; it is the strategy.”
- Rick Rabba, president, Rabba Fine Foods
