How did you get into this industry?
I started with Free Flow Petroleum as a cashier when I was 18, working my way up to manager. As the years passed, the company grew to the eight locations, and my role changed with the growth. Forty years later, I’m the district manager of all locations.
Favourite part about your job?
The amazing people on our team make my job rewarding. I enjoy working alongside staff, engaging with customers and helping to build a better customer experience.
Biggest challenge?
Trying to navigate through the changing pandemic times to ensure all processes were followed and that the staff were safe.
Best advice received?
Life is not a destination; it’s a journey, and you need to enjoy it. I truly enjoy working in this industry every day.
Best achievement?
Raising three boys while helping grow the business. Both continue to grow and amaze me, whether it’s highest sales to date or for my boys starting their own careers, getting married and having their own families.
What are you most proud of during the last year?
Helping our staff and customers see positives when facing so many challenges during the pandemic.
What excites you most about the future?
The channel is constantly changing, growing and evolving. A lot has changed over the past 40 years. I’m excited to see what’s in store for our future.

Lead by example and build trust in your team. Be kind and understanding.
Other thoughts?
When I came to Free Flow Petroleum as an 18-year-old, I never dreamt I would be become part of the family and be here 40 years later. It’s a family-run business that treats their staff like you are part of the family. It’s a great place to have a career.
