How did you get into this business? 

I started this journey 12 years ago. Parkland was a client of mine and when I was asked to join their workforce, I accepted and never looked back. The convenience industry is a dynamic sector filled with many areas of opportunity and that has always been of interest to me.

What are you most proud of during the last 12-18 months?

The work my team and I have done to streamline the customer experience and create efficiencies in our day-to-day processes. With great team collaboration, we have tackled projects to save time and minimize errors resulting in a positive experience for the customer. A happy customer is a returning customer.

What do you like most about your job?

The people and the opportunity to continuously learn. With the fast-paced environment, there is always an opportunity to learn something new. I also get to work with some very smart and talented people and that makes the tough days easier.

What was the biggest challenge or your career? What did you learn?

Gaining confidence and believing in myself. I like to work in the background and try to avoid the spotlight. Over time, I’ve realized that can hinder your career growth. It’s still a work in progress, but with support and encouragement from the great managers I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years, I’ve been able to step out of my shell and be my own cheerleader.

What's the best advice you ever received? 

Focus on what you can control and let go of the rest.

What's your career highlight/biggest achievement?

This accolade is on top of the list.

What excites you most about the future of this channel? 

The pace of change and innovation. New technologies and platforms are opening up the realm of possibilities. It is exciting to see what’s next.

What trend or innovation will shape the business in the next three years?

The impact of AI will reshape everything—from automating tasks, improving efficiency, enhancing data analysis, boosting productivity and profitability, nothing is out of scope.

Anything else you would like to add?

From the first day I joined the workforce until now, I’ve been very fortunate to be surrounded by amazing managers and leaders, and for that I will be forever grateful. Their belief in me, coupled with their mentorship, propelled me to gain confidence in myself and do my best every day. I’ve been blessed throughout this journey and am so fortunate to be surrounded by great people. They made me realize you can do anything if you believe it.
