2026 Future Leader in Convenience + Car Wash winner: BEN OPPENHEIMER
Overseeing all financial aspects of store performance, Oppenheimer ensures accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while managing cash and inventory controls and enforcing compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. He also motivates a finance team to continuously improve and become more efficient.
“We acquired and integrated a business recently; it was a major highlight for me to work with so many great people across the two organizations towards a common goal,” says Ben Oppenheimer.
“Change management, especially when it comes to people, is difficult. I found what works best is an open, honest approach towards communication. Once people are informed and bought in, it makes the process much easier.”
Oppenheimer is known not just for keeping the company’s financial goals in mind, but also for embracing the people aspect of the business and demonstrating compassion for retailers.
He establishes clear goals and solves problems creatively while focusing on the human aspect. Oppenheimer has been described as a hard worker, who ensures all cross functional partners understand the financial part of the job, and he coaches those around him to make the best-informed decisions.
“I’m lucky to work for a company that treats people fairly, and I see community, DE&I and other initiatives as an extension of this core value,” he says.
