2026 Future Leader in Convenience + Car Wash winner: JASON HANDS

Joining Parkland (now Sunoco) straight out of university, Jason Hands quickly distinguished himself by taking on a range of categories and initiatives across the business—meeting each one with focus, drive, and measurable success. Hands currently oversees general merchandise and service categories, and of his many career highlights, he is most proud of supporting the launch of a new loyalty app in the Canadian market.

“Being a member of that project team, working collaboratively with so many amazing colleagues and vendors to build something used by millions of Canadians, was very rewarding and memorable,” he recalls.

“I value how connected the convenience industry is to our local communities and how we impact the daily lives of so many people. To be able to serve our communities, our customers and to see our work in action at the local convenience store is what drives me every day.”

While each day presents its own set of unique challenges, Hands is always determined to meet things head-on.

“I approach them by collecting and understanding the available facts, evaluating the options thoroughly, and not being afraid to ask for advice when needed,” he says.
