2026 Impact Awards Winner: &Back Coffee
In 2025, &Back Coffee integrated its sustainability efforts through a comprehensive Annual Impact Reporting campaign. Central to this initiative is the belief that procurement practices should actively fulfill sustainability mandates, making impact data accessible to end consumers rather than buried in corporate reports.
The company’s Impact QRC platform is now embedded across its technology and products. By scanning a code, coffee drinkers access stories, videos and insights that connect them to the direct impact of their purchase. This transforms daily coffee moments into opportunities for education and engagement regarding environmental and social responsibility.
During 2025, &Back released detailed annual and mid-year impact reports, providing partners and consumers with tangible data on the collective change created through their consumption. This reporting was supported by personalized customer emails, flagship impact videos and printable “Impact Snapshot” summaries that offered approachable, actionable storytelling.
These resources highlighted key pillars, including women’s empowerment, responsible sourcing and reinvestment in coffee-growing communities. To amplify this message, &Back developed themed awareness campaigns for Fairtrade Month, Earth Month and Women’s Month. Operators received ready-to-use digital assets and educational tools to help them engage employees and customers around shared sustainability goals.
Leveraging an established national distribution network, &Back extended its educational outreach to diverse workplace audiences coast-to-coast in both English and French. Over the year, the initiative generated more than 5,700 targeted communications and distributed over 1,000 Impact Reports through direct outreach and partner amplification.
These efforts have strengthened industry awareness of responsibly sourced coffee and provided businesses with meaningful ways to connect their stakeholders to ecological impact. Sustainability remains foundational to &Back’s model. By pairing everyday products with intentional storytelling, the company demonstrates how educational outreach can multiply positive environmental outcomes.
