PepsiCo’s “Rooted in Canada” platform has evolved from product-origin claims and education to a comprehensive spotlight on the people, partnerships and ethical sourcing practices behind its iconic snacks. By doubling its regenerative agriculture footprint, PepsiCo Canada is demonstrating tangible action that supports ethical supply chain resilience and empowers local farming communities.

Moving beyond abstract sustainability goals, the company has elevated farmer-led storytelling to make its commitments to local sourcing and energy-efficient land use both credible and grounded in real-world application.

A cornerstone of this initiative was the 2025 expansion of PepsiCo’s regenerative agriculture program by 240,000 acres. This nearly doubles the footprint to more than 500,000 acres, utilizing practices designed to restore soil health, minimize food waste at the source and strengthen long-term agricultural resilience.

As more growers across Western and Eastern Canada enroll, these programs illustrate how regenerative agriculture and supply-chain efficiency are intrinsically linked to environmental stewardship.

PepsiCo has also partnered with the Toronto Star to create “Rooted in the Soil,” a farmer‑led content series explaining regenerative agriculture through real on‑farm experiences across Canada. Stories were told directly from growers’ fields and equipment, highlighting how they are improving soil health and building long‑term resilience.

This regenerative agriculture storytelling reached nearly three million Canadians, who engaged with the series. PepsiCo Canada was positioned as a leader in sustainable agriculture by elevating farmers as innovators.

By inviting farmers to become visible ambassadors for Canadian agriculture, regenerative farming and by stressing their importance in the country’s food system, the farmer voices have become a trusted bridge between PepsiCo and their consumers.
