7-Eleven and Walmart team up in the name of convenience
Walmart and 7-Eleven Canada are teaming up to offer convenience to customers in the Greater Toronto Area. The two companies have launched a pilot project that allows shoppers to pick up online purchases at their neighbourhood convenience store.
Shoppers who place online orders at walmart.ca can choose to have their purchases delivered to one of six 7-Eleven locations in the Greater Toronto Area, which all operate around the clock.
This project is an extension of Walmart's locker service, which is available at its Canadian head office, some of its stores in the Greater Toronto Area, and in Kapuskasing, ON.
The pilot project will run for six months.
What do you think this project means for the Canadian convenience landscape? Is it a way for Walmart to up its convenience game in urban centres? Will it draw more customers into these c-stores? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below - we'd love to hear from you!
