Norm Hower, VP and general manager of 7-Eleven Canada, will headline The All New Convenience U CARWACS Show, which runs September 28-29, 2021.
7-Eleven is a global convenience store giant that operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 72,800 stores in 17 countries, including more than 630 corporate-owned stores in Canada.
In his talk, The Evolution Continues, Hower will discuss how the international convenience store giant is reinventing the c-store experience by turning stores into multi-faceted testing grounds and what the company is learning about the future of convenience.
7-Eleven is breaking new ground with the rollout of its Evolution Store concept, which provide and experiential testing ground where customers can try and buy the retailer's latest innovations in a pioneering format that includes everything from restaurants to cigar bars, customer-centric technology and more. 7-Eleven debuted the concept last year in the U.S and several more openings are slated for this year.
As VP and general manager of 7-Eleven Canada, Inc., Hower is responsible for 7-Eleven’s company operated retail store operations in Canada, as well as developing, maintaining and implementing strategic and tactical plans supporting store growth and overall profitability for the country—annual fuel and merchandise sales are $3.3 billion.
He has been with 7-Eleven for more than 16 years and has held positions in logistics, merchandising, information systems and operations. From 2013 to 2019, Norm was zone VP & general manager for Greater Los Angeles, where he was responsible for 1,003 7-Eleven Stores, generating US$2.4 billion annually in merchandise and fuel sales. Previously, he was senior director, operations of Northern California and Northern Nevada. Norm lives in the Vancouver area with his family.
We are thrilled to welcome Hower to The All New Convenience U CARWACS Show, which is Canada’s largest and best attended c-store, retail fuel and car wash trade event. Over the years it has earned its position because it consistently showcases innovation and creates a perfect setting for the industry to gather and network.
The All New 2021 Convenience U CARWACS Show promises to continue this tradition with a hybrid format that is among the first of its kind in Canada.
“These challenging times demanded a solution that allow people to gather as an industry,” says Ed Several, executive vice president-events & conferences, EnsembleIQ (EIQ), the operators of the show. “We have come up with a hybrid model that checks all boxes for attendees and exhibitors. With the new format everyone can gather at the show, either in person or virtually,” he says, adding that EIQ assembled a technology stack that its team then integrated to create a package that brings people together under a digital umbrella that delivers added value to both live and digital attendees.
The ALL New Convenience U CARWACS Show takes place September 28-29, 2021 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
Attend in person or virtually.
