With 45 distillers producing whisky in Alberta, most of which are small craft distillers, Service Alberta Minister Dale Nally says proposed legislation will boost local economy.
The consultation will explore expanding "place of origin" trademark protections on alcohol products, industrial products and some crafts with a special focus on Indigenous knowledge.
