Colabor Group Inc., a distributor of food and related products in the Quebec and Atlantic Canada markets, is moving its Boucherville-based head office and warehouse to new facilities in the Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville Industrial Ecopark.

By the end of 2023, the company will settle into is new location, which is near its current site. The premises, developed by the Montoni Group and leased by Colabor, are subject to a long-term agreement. The company said the new industrial premises will be more modern, better located for operations, and will offer what it calls "a stimulating work environment, ideal for the well-being of employees."

Originally established as a buying group in 1962, Colabor is a leading distributor of food and non-food products, including private-label and other brand-name products, to independent distributors, which in turn resell them to foodservice businesses (cafeterias, restaurants, hotels, restaurant chains, etc.), as well as convenience stores and grocery.

"Colabor has been in business for over 60 years. Today's announcement marks the beginning of a new chapter in our history as we set out to accelerate the implementation of our strategic plan,'' president and CEO, Louis Frenette, said in a release.

He added this move will be beneficial for Colabor and its employees, as well as for its clients and partners.

The new site is meant to meet Colabor's current and future needs. It is strategically located at the intersection of Highway 30 and Route 116, near public transportation, including the Saint-Bruno train station. The goal is for all buildings to obtain LEED and Net Zero Carbon certifications.

The Boucherville facility houses the group's head office and its sales operations. Colabor also operates other distribution facilities in Quebec. Colabor distributes approximately 50,000 products sourced from 600 suppliers and manufacturers to more than 25,000 points of sale. The company is serviced by small to medium-sized wholesale distributors operating in Quebec, and the Atlantic Provinces.
