OREO teams up with Nintendo

Limited-edition Super Mario cookies will be available at select stores in Canada.

Mondelēz Canada’s OREO has teamed up with Nintendo for new limited-edition cookies inspired by Super Mario. 

The OREO Super Mario cookies feature 16 unique embossments with a vast array of Super Mario characters and Power-ups. Fan-favourites like Mario and Luigi are featured on cookies as well as the iconic Super Mario Star and enemies like Browser Jr. 

"OREO loves to create new ways for our fans to stay playful and we're proud to announce our partnership with the iconic Super Mario franchise," says Lexie Lubov, associate brand manager of OREO. "The similar fandom between OREO and Super Mario made this cookie collaboration a natural fit and we're super excited to bring this new offering to Canadians".

Fans might notice that Princess Peach is missing from the pack. OREO’s latest challenge includes the chance for cookie fans and Super Mario fans to participate in a social challenge to stop Browser from taking over Princess Peach’s castle. The challenge includes a fun game with fan-submitted videos. 

"We hope to unite OREO cookie lovers and Super Mario enthusiasts alike with this playful challenge, inspired by a storyline fans know all too well," added Lubov.

The OREO Super Mario cookies will roll out at c-stores and retailers nationwide in early July for a limited time.
