Parkland’s B.C. EV charging site has 12 charging stations

Parkland’s Hope B.C. location is one of 30 EV charging sites the retailer has opened.

According to a LinkedIn post, Parkland Corporation’s newly opened electric vehicle charging site in Hope, British Columbia brings the total number of electric vehicle charging sites in British Columbian and Alberta to 30.

The Hope, British Columbia site – that opened on July 27 – can charge up to 12 vehicles at a time, according to Tara Overhold, senior corporate communications specialist with Parkland Corporation.

Scott Sharabura, vice-president of EV charging for Parkland says in the two-minute video announcing the opening of the new site, that this location is the largest site in the company’s electric vehicle charging network so far. “It can charge 12 vehicles at a time, and it is not just the largest charging site in the Parkland network, it is the largest open-access charging site anywhere in Canada. We are breaking new ground here.”

He adds that in the first week of operation, over 300 electric vehicle owners used the site.

Overholt says that the second Parkland electric vehicle charging location opened in Kananaskis, Alberta.

Parkland looks to have some 200 charging sites by next year.
