“We’re in business to feed and serve our neighbours”, said Rima Rabba, who co-leads Rabba Roots. “When we can do so through donations, we make sure we do and invite our partners to do the same. As we’ve seen with Maple Leaf Foods’ donation earlier this week and today with Burnbrae, we are truly surrounded by wonderful, supportive partners.”

Burnbrae Farms and Rabba have had a partnership since 1986.

“Partnering with Rabba Roots for this annual Easter egg donation has become very important to us,” said Margaret Hudson, president and CEO of Burnbrae Farms. “We appreciate partners like Rabba who share our concern for local communities we both serve year-round with quality, nutritious food from our local farms.”

The Mississauga Food Bank recently relocated to a bigger location to meet what they call a dramatic increase in food bank usage. This February alone, the food bank reported 13,850 visitors, a 44% increase over the same month last year.

“Every donation makes a world of difference,” says Meghan Nicholls, CEO at The Mississauga Food Bank. “Given the growing need, we’re calling on all our longstanding partners to help us reach out to find new donors. We cannot thank Rabba, Maple Leaf Foods and Burnbrae enough for doing exactly that, year after year.”

Rabba also donated 250 pounds of quality Maple Leaf Easter hams to the Mississauga Food Bank last week, courtesy of Maple Leaf Foods.

Rabba Fine Foods was an Impact Awards winner last year, recognized for the family-run company’s legacy of giving back to its communities.
