Regina couple opens new liquor store in Kamsack
On Sept. 25, Brijesh Patel and his wife Trupti Patel opened Bottle Boss, a liquor store, at 510 main street (Third Avenue South) which is the former P&J Plumbing building located next to the Family Pharmacy.
Coming to Kamsack from Regina, Brijesh said that he and his wife operate the Ross Food Centre on the east side of Regina and plan to be commuting back and forth for the next while.
After arriving in Canada from India in 2010, Brijesh lived in Toronto for a couple years and then moved to Regina where he met Trupti. The couple, who married in 2013 and now have three children, aged 11, seven and five years, received their Canadian citizenship in 2014.
Bottle Boss is a liquor store that carries “a good selection of wine and spirits at competitive prices,” he said. “Our goal is to provide a modern, clean and friendly local store.”
The building has been renovated to include a 600-square-foot cooler that contains a wide selection of beers and coolers, and a 2,000 square-foot retail space containing a variety of premium products.
“We also plan to include a selection of snacks and when the ice machine arrives, customers may obtain ice at no charge,” Brijesh explained.

The business will offer curbside service and will be able to make deliveries to customers located within the town, he said, adding that when customers are planning a special gathering, their order can be customized, if known in advance.
In addition to the owners, the business employs a manager and two full-time employees and will have two part-time employees, Brijesh explained. The manager is Bhavin Patel of Regina, who plans to be in Kamsack about two days a week, while the two full-time employees are Amanpreet Kaur and Amandeep Singh.
He said that although he and his wife have the surname Patel, which is the same name as the business’s manager, they are not related, nor are they related to the Patels that recently acquired the Home Hardware depot in the community, or to the Patel that owns the Petro-Can outlet.
Next to Singh, Patel is the most common surname in India, he said.
In addition to the Bottle Boss business, the Patels also own the empty lot at the intersection of main street and Nykolaishen Drive, where the former Woodlander Hotel was located.
The business is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Fridays and Saturdays when it will stay open an extra hour to 11 p.m.
A grand opening event will be held in late October and plans are to have a barbecue next summer to celebrate the business and its customers. Redeemable coupons for reduced prices will soon be available.
Persons interested in one of the part-time jobs are invited to drop off their resume at the store.
