Under Ayaaz Jamal’s leadership, Express Auto Wash has seen innovation, community engagement, and operational excellence. He is most proud of his recent promotion to president, and the company’s rapid growth since joining six years ago.
“I wore many hats in my previous role, which fuelled my curiosity and passion for our industry,” says Jamal. “We’ll have four fully operational washes by the end of this year, and the transition from design to build to operations has been my biggest accomplishment.”
Jamal, who was nominated by an impressive four people, is described as a great leader who empowers his teams to grow, achieve and excel in their roles. Jamal also pushes EAW to introduce sustainable initiatives: It’s one of the first in Canada to recycle 80% of its water on top of reusing rainwater in their rinsing systems.
“This aligns with my goals to keep us at the forefront of innovation as we continue to grow across Canada.”
Committed to building a diverse pool of talent, Jamal often hires new immigrants who face higher barriers to employment. Jamal’s dedication to community rubs off on his customers, who enthusiastically support the organization’s charitable events. At the opening of a new car wash, Jamal hosted the Grand Splash Fundraiser, helping raise $18,000 for Family Services of Greater Vancouver.
“Next generation leaders must give back and build long-term relationships; this lets our business show that we stand by promises made. Our amazing customers then stand by us through our community events, giving back to those who need it most.”
