My biggest accomplishment is running my own business. I completed five years at York University for a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, but no amount of schooling prepared me for real world training like the business has,” says Chris Reyhani.

Known for being a top retailer of Imperial Tobacco products, superior lottery sales and an employer of young Canadians, Reyhani’s convenience store and associated vape shop has shown him what success looks like.

“I value interacting with our customers, who come from different backgrounds and are of all ages. It is a pleasure to cater to them, and to get to know them,” he says.

Reyhani’s store has a historic reputation in this small community of Bolton, Ont., and has served families for more than 20 years.

His impact is such that he was nominated by a fellow c-store operators in his community, who notes: “Chris is running [the business] at a young age, and the store is also known for donating to local youth hockey leagues.”

Reyhani says getting the right product and maintaining inventory can be challenging.

“Since COVID-19, things have started to stabilize, but product shortages are still happening,” he explains.

“It’s good to see prices and inventory stabilizing. I am in the consumer discretionary business, so it is important to align with companies that are actively working on eco-friendly and cost-friendly products for the customer.”
