The move follows five successful years for the company's Americas AutoStore business, which has seen dozens of deployments of the ultra-high-density automated storage and retrieval system involving thousands of robots and millions of bins.

As an AutoStore integrator, Kardex brings experience from more than 150 deployments worldwide across sectors like retail and automotive. The company already provides proprietary intralogistics solutions and automated systems in Canada, supported by an established resource and partner network across the country.

Canadian market as an important growth driver

"Canada represents an important growth opportunity for Kardex AS Solutions as we continue to expand our AutoStore business globally," said Daniel Hauser, head of Kardex AS Solutions. "We have built significant AutoStore experience across markets and industries, and our focus is on bringing that expertise closer to Canadian customers. By combining our global capabilities with strong local market knowledge and support, we see an opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term AutoStore business in Canada."

North American clients already using Kardex AutoStore systems include automotive manufacturer Ford, electrical supplier Sonepar, sportswear brand Cutter & Buck and motion control specialist WEG.

Supporting francophone Canadian businesses

To serve French-speaking Canadian businesses, Kardex is pairing its North American teams with specialized integration experts from its French operations. These teams will offer local, French-language guidance through every step of a project, from early design to commissioning and ongoing support.

"We are honored to bring AutoStore into the Canadian market," said Fred Fox, president of Americas for Kardex Solutions. "It is a privilege we do not take lightly, and one that reflects the work of a team that has helped build successful AutoStore projects across the Americas and globally. Our aim is straightforward: to serve Canadian companies well, with the resources and partner network to support them through every stage of their solution, and to build the kind of relationships that earn trust over the long term."

Founded in Switzerland, Kardex employs nearly 3,000 people in over 30 countries. Since becoming a global AutoStore partner in 2021, Kardex automated storage deployments have boosted picking throughput, reduced required floor space and improved picking accuracy. Projects can move from contract signing to go-live in as little as six months.

The company has also introduced several proprietary technologies to support its automated grid systems. These additions include FulfillX warehouse execution software, the SnapVac automated grid cleaning tool, BinInductAI for artificial intelligence bin induction and the Intuitive Picking Assistant, which projects picking instructions straight onto the system port.
