Long-standing Kelowna 7-Eleven closing
The 7-Eleven store at the corner of Gordon Drive and Bernard Avenue in Kelowna, BC, is set to close its doors soon, marking the latest retail footprint adjustment for the convenience giant in the Central Okanagan.
In a statement, the chain confirmed the closure, saying it aligns with its long-term growth strategy and ongoing store network optimization.

“We continuously review and optimize our portfolio to deliver convenience where, when and how customers need it,” the company said in a statement. “As part of this, we made the decision to divest and close a number of non-core assets that do not fit into our growth strategy. At the same time, we continue to open stores in areas where customers are looking for more convenience.”
The decision reflects the broader operational restructuring announced in April 2026 by parent company Seven & i Holdings, which outlined plans to shutter 645 underperforming or non-core 7-Eleven locations across North America during the 2026 fiscal year.
This latest closure follows the shutdown of the Lake Country 7-Eleven and Petro-Canada station at the end of August. Following the Gordon Drive closure, 7-Eleven's presence in the Central Okanagan will be reduced to five remaining locations—all situated within Kelowna and each co-located with gas station forecourts, signalling a clear shift toward fuel-integrated c-store models in the region.
