MacEwen rebranding Little Short Stop stores to Quickie banner
MacEwen has announced that its Little Short Stop stores are being rebranded under the Quickie banner, a move that will push Quickie’s store count to well over 100 locations in Ontario and Quebec.
The independent Canadian energy and retail convenience provider acquired the 26-store Little Short Stop chain — operating in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, New Hamburg and Ayr — in June 2024.
“Rebranding is underway,” MacEwen shared in LinkedIn and Facebook posts on Aug. 6. “So far, nine stores have switched to Quickie, and more are on the way soon.”
The rebrand marks the latest phase in MacEwen’s strategy to consolidate its c-store operations under a single, recognizable name. After acquiring the Quickie banner in 2021 — a network of 51 stores, including 22 with fuel offerings in Eastern Ontario and Gatineau — the company began modernizing and rebranding its company-controlled locations under the Quickie brand.
Today, MacEwen operates more than 100 Quickie stores across Ontario and Quebec, including over 90 in Ontario, according to a count by CSNC on its online store locator.
The Quickie brand is known for its signature red and white colours and features a stylized fox icon in its logo — embodying the brand’s “fast, fun, and friendly” vibe.
