Two of Ontario's longstanding fuel and lubricant distribution businesses have joined forces.

On May 31, McDougall Energy Inc. announced the acquisition of Rosen Energy Group. This acquisition expands McDougall Energy’s footprint into new communities, which include Kingston, Gananoque, Greater Napanee and the surrounding area. Once the acquisition is complete, Rosen Energy will operate under the McDougall Energy brand as its Kingston office.

Rosen Energy has been serving the Kingston area since 1875, supplying liquid fuel (unbranded heating oil, diesel and gasoline) to home and commercial customers, HVAC sales and installation, equipment servicing, service plans, and financing.

“This is an exciting opportunity for both businesses to come together and strengthen the home heat and commercial offerings for customers in the Kingston region, with a plan for future growth,” says Darren McDougall, president, McDougall Energy Inc.

Established in 1949, McDougall Energy is a third-generation, family-owned Canadian business headquartered in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. As one of the largest, most diversified, 100% family-owned fuel and lubricant marketers and distributors in Canada, McDougall Energy has local offices and teams across Ontario and team members in Western Canada.

The company is a distributor and marketer of propane, Esso and Shell branded home heating oil, fuel and lubricant products. McDougall Energy owns a network of Esso and Shell-branded retail stations and its own proprietary Pump retail brand.
