Oh Henry! launches ‘grumble-activated’ vending machine
Hershey Canada is taking experiential marketing to transit hubs this fall as its Oh Henry! brand launches a unique grumble-activated vending machine in Toronto and Montreal. No stranger to creating eye-catching marketing, Hershey Canada previously teamed up with Pokemon to create Pokemon-themed chocolate that allowed fans to digitally track the Pokémon foils they've collected.
The Oh Henry! pop-up activation invites commuters to unleash their best stomach grumble to trigger the interactive machine and claim a free candy bar. The experiential campaign aims to target on-the-go consumers during peak travel hours when hunger strikes.
"As Canada's number-one hunger bar, Oh Henry! has long been helping Canadians take on hunger whenever it strikes," said Sana Goguen, marketing director at Hershey Canada. "With our grumble-activated vending machine, we're turning those unmistakable stomach grumbles into something memorable and rewarding. It's a playful reminder that an Oh Henry!is the answer when hunger calls."

The tour kicks off in Toronto at Union Station in the GO Transit Bay Concourse from Sept. 1 to Sept. 3. The machine then moves to Montreal at Gare Centrale in Les Halles de la Gare from Sept. 9 to Sept. 11. Both activations will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
The classic candy bar features whole peanuts, creamy caramel, fudge and a chocolatey coating. Convenience store operators in major metropolitan markets can expect “heightened consumer awareness” for the chocolate bar segment throughout September as the brand drives high-traffic engagement in key regional transport hubs.
