National Retail Solutions (NRS) announced the expansion of its point of sale (POS) network to Canada.

NRS is currently deploying its POS terminals to select retailers in Toronto and plans to expand to other Canadian cities in the coming months.

"NRS has been a powerful resource for small retailers exclusively on the U.S. market,” says Elie Y. Katz, CEO of NRS. “We developed an extraordinarily effective POS platform that enables  domestic independent retail partners to operate more profitably and compete more effectively against large retail chains. Now, we are very excited to bring these advantages to retailers in Canada.”

The NRS platform provides independent retailers, including convenience, tobacco, and liquor stores, with a purpose-built, integrated hardware and software solution. Store management tools include a price book, inventory management solutions, sales reports and statistics, vendor payments, remote operations management through the My NRS Store mobile app, in-store promotions, e-commerce, and customer loyalty programs.

NRS will also offer its Canadian retail partners NRS Pay, a credit card processing service.

Eli Korn, NRS’ COO, comments, “The Canadian market, with its significant, heterogeneous immigrant population, is a natural steppingstone as we begin to build out our capabilities for international expansion. We expect that terminals operated by retailers in markets outside the U.S. will gradually become a significant contributor to Canadian retailers’ growth as well as  NRS’s long-term growth.”

NRC also announced the introduction of the NRS Ultimate E-Commerce Package and free delivery service for retailers, available to both current and new NRS E-commerce program participants. This comprehensive solution is designed to help independent retailers stay competitive in today's rapidly evolving market landscape.

The NRS Ultimate E-Commerce Package offers a BR Club Shopping App where retailers in the NRS e-commerce program can enhance their digital presence by offering customers the convenience of online shopping complemented by free, unlimited delivery for the retailers where the customers pay an app delivery fee and a service fee for delivery convenience. This is achieved by integrating delivery service partners, including DoorDash, Uber, Point Pickup, and Relay, into their framework. Other features include the ability to create a mobile-friendly, branded website that seamlessly connects to their POS system and a means of managing online reviews.

"We're delighted to introduce the NRS Ultimate E-Commerce Package and complimentary delivery services to our retail partners and their customers," adds Katz. "We aim to empower retailers with cost-efficient services, enabling them to serve their communities better and compete successfully against larger online retailers."

Ari Korman, SVP of e-commerce at NRS, says, "In a digital world, our merchants operate physical stores. NRS bridges the gap between physical and digital stores, creating a 'phy-gital' environment that maximizes retailers' chances of success."
