Parkland receiving Quebec government support in its EV charging expansion efforts
Parkland Corporation took to LinkedIn to announce it has received significant financial support to install electric vehicle charging outlets at 14 strategic locations in Quebec.
According the LinkedIn post, the support comes as part of the Government of Quebec’s 2030 Plan for a Green Economy, and will work with Parkland to install 104 charging outlets at 14 strategic stations in Quebec, under the Marché Express Recharge Rapide banner.
"We sincerely thank the Government of Quebec for its generous contribution, which is helping the electromobility industry meet growing demand," said Darren Smart, president of Parkland's EV Charging Network.
Earlier this year, Parkland announced a major expansion of its EV charging initiatives, currently at some 58 charge points, mostly located in British Columbia.

“British Columbia was where we started,” said Scott Sharabura, vice-president, operations, On the Run Charging, speaking about the expansion initiatives. “That was our pilot program, if you will. Our focus for this year is on expanding [the network], particularly into Ontario and Quebec, and into Alberta a well. I’m quite excited to be serving EV drivers in Ontario and Quebec.”
The expansion plans will significantly increase the number of charging ports in the On the Run Charging network, bringing it up to 1,800 ports “which would be about 300 locations across Canada,” Sharabura added.
