SRP welcomes Gary Batey as president of Canadian operations

Batey offers more than 30 years of consumer packaged goods experience.

Gary Batey joins Strategic Retail Partners (SRP) as president of its Canadian operations, effective April 6, 2026.

Batey has more than 30 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, having held senior leadership roles across five global organizations, including Reckitt Benckiser, KraftWarner-LambertNestlé, and most recently Mondelēz International, where he spent more than six years.

He brings a strong cross-functional background, with leadership experience spanning sales, strategy and marketing. Over the past 15 years, Batey has operated at the vice-president level, most recently serving as VP of sales at Mondelez, where he led multiple channels, including convenience and gas, club, dollar, foodservice and alternate channels.

Batey is known for his entrepreneurial mindset and proven ability to build high-performing teams, grow brands and scale businesses. He also has a strong track record of developing meaningful and lasting customer partnerships.

In a LinkedIn post, he wrote: "Thrilled to be joining the dynamic SRP team here in Canada - and exceeding the expectations of our consumers through our important retail partners."

In recognition of his contributions to the industry, he was honoured in 2025 with the Convenience Industry Council of Canada (CICC) Lifetime Achievement Award.
