Amanda Newell was announced today as the new president of Adapt Media, where she helped triple the company's owned and operated advertising network.

During her tenure, Newell launched its iGaming media business from the ground up following Ontario's regulated market opening in 2022.

Newell is one of the few women to lead a Canadian out of home media company, and a biracial leader in a category where representation at the top remains rare. Her appointment reflects both her results and the evolving leadership landscape in Canadian media.

As a winner of the 2025 Star Women in Convenience award, Newell was responsible for thousands of screens at convenience store standouts like Circle K, Hasty Market, INS and Rabba Fine Foods. Adapt is now the largest Out-of-Home advertising provider in the Canadian convenience and gas channel.

"I'm absolutely ecstatic to have been granted the mantle of Adapt's presidency, joining an intimate group of women who helm a Canadian media sales organization," said Newell, in a press release. "I didn't get here on my own and am unabashedly grateful to the peerless Adapt team for their inexhaustible work in tripling the size of this organization and Jamie Thompson's bolstering faith in me as a leader. We're carving an ever-deepening tranche in the Canadian newcomer and multicultural media landscape so it's a testament to Jamie's demonstrated belief in walking the purpose-driven, inclusive walk to have named me to this role. I look forward to expanding that mantra of inclusion, tolerance, and decency across the continent".

"Amanda has earned this role through consistent leadership and real results," said Jamie Thompson, chief executive officer of Wildwood Park Media Corp. "She has been central to building the Adapt Media we know today, expanding our network, creating new revenue and developing a culture that attracts great people and lasting client relationships. That she is also one of the few women leading a company in our industry and a biracial leader at that, makes this an important moment, not just for Adapt Media but for Canadian out of home media."

As president, Newell will lead Adapt Media's continued growth across Canada and its expansion into the United States, deepening client partnerships and broadening the company's media offerings.
