Jorge Mesquita is the new CEO at BlueTriton Brands, the former U.S. and Canadian operations of Nestlé Waters.

Prior to joining BlueTriton, Mesquita served as EVP and worldwide Chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s consumer division. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, he spent nearly 30 at The Procter & Gamble Company, where he led three separate divisions during his tenure.

The US$4.3-billion sale included the Canadian Pure Life brand, Poland Spring, Deer Park and Ozarka brands.

Mesquita joins as the company, known for its extensive portfolio of regional spring water and national purified water brands, embarks on growth and innovation initiatives under the new BlueTriton moniker.

“The water category is primed for growth and innovation as more consumers seek healthy hydration alternatives to sugary drinks,” Mesquita said in a release. “With an exceptional portfolio of beloved brands, BlueTriton is well-positioned to capitalize on this tremendous market opportunity. I look forward to working with our outstanding management team and talented professionals throughout the company to raise the bar on innovation while continuing to lead the way in sustainable water management and being a good neighbour in the communities in which we operate.”
