Welcome to the Fisherman’s Friend: Friends of the Community Contest! This contest is governed by the following rules. By entering the contest, you agree to comply with these rules and with our decisions and those of any contest judges (which are final and binding). You also agree to comply with applicable laws.
Eligibility
This contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence as of Monday, December 4, 2017. The contest sponsor is TFB & Associates Limited, Fisherman’s Friend (“Contest Sponsor”). The following persons and their dependents are not eligible to enter or win: employees, representatives, officers or directors of the Contest Sponsor or their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertisers, sponsors or advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) of each of the above.
The Prize
There are three (3) prizes to be won in the Friends of the Community promotion. The Prize consists of:
one (1) GoPro Hero (retail value $649.99 CAD);
one (1) $500 CAD Visa Gift Cards (retail value $500 CAD); and
one (1) Fisherman’s Friend Product (retail value $100 CAD)
Total approximate value of the prize is $1,250 CAD. The winner will not receive any compensation if the actual retail value of prize is less than projected approximate retail value. Relevant documentation, including a valid ID, are required, and the responsibility and liability of the winner.
The selected entrant(s) for the Prize Packages (the “Winners”) must follow all instructions of the Contest Sponsor and facility staff or participation in the Prize Packages and may otherwise be forfeited, in whole or in part. These prizes and the award recognition must be taken as offered and is neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. The prize is not for resale and will be awarded to the confirmed winners only. No prize substitutions are permitted except by TFB & Associates as may be necessary due to unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
How to Enter
To enter, the participant must complete and submit the contest entry form provided on the Fishermen’s Friend: Friend of the Community website through cccentral.ca and enter the following details: full name, email address and phone number. By checking the opt-in box on the entry form, you give consent to receiving marketing correspondence from TFB & Associates and Fisherman’s Friend Canada via email. If you do not want to receive this you can unsubscribe after receiving the first email message. Entrants can also receive extra entries as follows (for a possible maximum five (5) entries per person):
Extra entries must contain new and original information and not be a complete duplication of the first entry form submitted. Eligibility for extra entries will be at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsor.
Any photos that are submitted and which are considered by the Contest Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be crude or inappropriate or otherwise objectionable will not receive an additional entry. A crude, inappropriate or objectionable photo could include, but is not limited to, photos which contain nudity or obscenity, racial or ethnic slurs or innuendo, sexual character, depict or encourage violence towards others, anti-Semitic, xenophobic and discriminatory sentiments, subversive and disrespectful images, resentful and injurious images, vulgar images, declarations striking a blow to Fisherman’s Friend and TFB & Associates Limited, submissions which threaten privacy, or an incitement to violence, hatred, or execution of an illegal action, violate any third party’s rights, promote or refer to any commercial enterprises.
Any duplicate entries in addition to the original entry and any extra entries described above, with the same email address and first and last name, will be removed at the discretion of the Contest Sponsor. In the event of a dispute, entries received shall be submitted by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
Entrants are solely responsible for ensuring that their entries are properly submitted.

Contest Period
The contest period begins on Monday, December 4, 2017. Contest closes at 12:01 am (EST) Thursday, March 8, 2018, and entries must be received before then to be eligible. Potential winners will be selected by random draw on March 9, 2018 at 7300 Warden Avenue, Markham, ON. The selected entrants will be contacted via phone & email within seven (7) days of the closing date. The entrant will have seven (7) days to respond and collect their prize, as discussed in more detail below. By accepting the prize, the respondent consents to TFB & Associates and Fisherman’s Friend Canada to post the name of the winning entrants name in a newsfeed post on the FFCanada Facebook page and on the FFCanada Instagram.
How to Win
All eligible entries received during the contest period will be entered into a random draw for selection on the draw date. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize in whole or part in the event that all or any component of a prize or prizes are unavailable in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
Winner
The potential winners must respond, and confirm their mailing address, within seven (7) days from the date of the notification attempt; after this it will be assumed to be invalid and a new potential winner will be selected. To be declared a winner and eligible for the prize, the selected entrant must be in compliance with these rules. If any prize notification, or any prize, is returned as undeliverable, or if the potential winner cannot be contacted within the 7-day period specified above, does not otherwise promptly respond to the Contest Sponsor’s communications, or does not sign and return any required documentation within the time periods that the Contest Sponsor specifies, the selected entrant will forfeit the prize and that entrant’s entries will be declared void, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate random Winner from the pool of entries. Prizing will be arranged directly with the Winners immediately following the Winner's response.
Before being determined the Winner; the potential winner will be required to: (a) correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by TFB & Associates Limited; and (b) sign and return, within the time stipulated by TFB & Associates Limited, a full release and indemnity form stating he/she has read and understood the official Terms and Conditions, an acceptance of the prize as awarded, a publicity release, a liability release, and any other information and documentation that the Contest Sponsor may require. In the event that the potential winner does not comply with all of the provisions as contemplated in these Terms and Conditions, TFB & Associates Limited shall have right to disqualify potential winner and draw an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
Proof of identification and eligibility will be required before claiming the prize. The winners will also be required to provide other information such as full name, date of birth, picture ID for the purpose of making prizing delivery arrangements.
Cancellation
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, extend or suspend the contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the contest as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion, or if for any reason the Contest Sponsor cannot run the contest as planned. If that occurs, the Contest Sponsor may award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of impairment, or award no prize.
Disqualification
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person that does not meet the contest’s eligibility requirements, or that the Contest Sponsor believes has violated or attempted to circumvent these rules, attempted to disrupt or undermine the contest, or attempted to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Contest Sponsor representatives. By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Contest Sponsor, which shall be final. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from the contest.
Disclaimer, Release and Indemnity
The Contest Sponsor is not responsible for and does not accept liability for any loss or damage resulting directly or indirectly from: (a) an entrant’s participation in, or inability to participate in, the contest; (b) any lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible, incomplete or undeliverable entries, or any delay or failure to transmit, process, receive or consider entries; (c) any technical failures affecting participation in the contest or the operation of the contest; (d) the receipt, use or redemption of any prize, or the inability to receive, use or redeem any prize; or (e) human error, theft, destruction or other factors beyond the Contest Sponsor’s control.
By participating in the contest, each participant agrees to release and indemnify and hold the Contest Sponsor, and their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from and against any and all losses, damages, rights, liabilities, injuries, claims and actions of any kind (including actual legal fees and expenses), known or unknown, absolute or contingent, arising from or related to: (a) the participant’s failure to comply with any of these rules; (b) the participant’s participation in the contest, (c) any misrepresentation the participant make under these rules or otherwise to the Contest Sponsor; or (d) the participant’s receipt, use or redemption of any prize, or the participant’s inability to receive, use or redeem any prize.
Law and Disputes
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. These rules are governed by the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada. Any disputes, claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with the contest, prize or these rules will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court of British Columbia, Canada.
Publicity and Privacy
Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Contest Sponsor and its designees to use Winner's photograph name, city and Province (e.g. Jane Doe Vancouver, BC) for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity (including on its social media channels) without further notification, permission or compensation. TFB & Associates Limited guarantees that the personal details, including email address, of entrants will not be publicized, rented or sold - unless the entrant has given express permission. Entrants are providing their information to the Contest Sponsor only.
Any personal information provided to enter the contest will be used only to administer the contest, for the purposes described in these rules, or as otherwise required or permitted by law, and you consent to the Contest Sponsor using and disclosing your personal information for these purposes. Your personal information will be processed in accordance with the Contest Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (available at: https://www.fishermansfriend.ca/privacy.html).
Your Chances of Winning
Chances of winning are determined by the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period. All provincial and local laws and regulations apply.
