Leadership changes at PepsiCo North America include a new president for Canada

Cara Keating is moving into a new role with Frito-Lay North America.

The North American divisions of PepsiCo – Frito-Lay North America (FLNA), PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) – are announcing several key leadership changes that will take effect in July.

Cara Keating, currently the president of PepsiCo Foods Canada, is moving into a new role, joining Frito-Lay North America as chief customer officer. 

She will oversee sales strategy, planning and commercialization for Frito-Lay’s U.S. customer sales organization, according to a press release. Her scope will include responsibility for retail, e-commerce, PepsiCo Customer Teams, Hispanic Business Unit and and foodservice businesses. Keating, who became president here in Canada in 2019, joined the company in 2004, taking on progressively senior roles across Canada. An 18-year PepsiCo veteran, she has a wealth of critical experiences in various geographies and general management, customer insights, field and customer leadership roles. 

Rachel Ferdinando, currently chief marketing officer for Frito-Lay U.S., will replace Keating as president of PepsiCoFoods Canada. 

Ferdinando, who has been with the company for five years, will oversee PFC HR, finance, customer development, field sales, marketing, supply chain, IT, R&D, foodservice and transformation. According to a release, she has deep experience in "end-to-end marketing leadership and portfolio transformation and builds on a multi-decade career across global category and sector leadership as well as general management." Before joining PepsiCo in 2017, Ferdinando was vice-president and global sector leader at Kimberly-Clark Corp. and has held various leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline.

Keating replaces Mike Del Pozzo, will be returning to PBNA as president and general manager of the Gatorade performance portfolio.

Brett O’Brien, the current general manager and senior vice-president of the Gatorade Performance Portfolio (GPP), will succeed Ferdinando as the Frito-Lay U.S. chief marketing officer.
