The world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation wants to hear about your company's new and exciting products! Nominations are open for 2025 Product of the Year Canada.

Established over 35 years ago in France, POY currently operates in over 40 countries with the same purpose: Guide consumers to the best products in their market and reward manufacturers for quality and innovation.

Voted on by4,000-plus Canadian consumers, it serves as a shortcut for shoppers to save time and money. 

For winning products, the award is a powerful marketing message proven to increase product awareness, trial, and quality.

Product of the Year Canada accepts entries from consumer products that demonstrate innovation in design, function, packaging or ingredients, that were launched within the previous year. 

All entries that meet the innovation criteria for Product of the Year advance as finalists. Those selected as finalists are then categorized and evaluated through an online survey completed by  Canadian consumers, conducted by Kantar. The proprietary research results are provided to all finalists!

Canadian consumers will cast their vote this year and award products in multiple categories with the Product of the Year seal. 

For consumers, the seal helps guide shoppers to the most innovative products in their market. For manufacturers of the winning products, the award is a powerful marketing message proven to increase product trial, awareness, distribution and sales.

Winning products receive: 

  • The right to use the Product of the Year Canada seal in marketing and communications for two years
  • Inclusion in an integrated B2B & B2C winners marketing campaign with over 4 million impressions with partners, such as Canadian Grocer, Convenience Stores News Canada,  Corus Entertainment, Flipp and more!
  • A detailed consumer research report with category-specific results, conducted by leading research company, Kantar
