Kelowna, B.C. fuel provider Canco Petroleum announced the opening of its newest Ontario location in Innisfil, Ontario.
A little over 100 kms north of Toronto, the Canco Petroleum operation is located at the intersection of Yonge Street and Innisfil Beach Road. The new Canco Gas and One Stop Convenience store takes over from the previous Pioneer station that had closed down several weeks earlier. The site has five pumps – for a total of 10 filling points – and a stand-alone diesel pump for trucks.
The convenience store is being upgraded and expanded with new coolers being added.
This new operation is currently being corporately operated, but plans are being developed to add in the future a quick-serve restaurant operation onto the site.
“We are thrilled to become part of the Innisfil community,” Canco Petroleum regional area manager Janek Maternicki said to Innisfil Today upon the opening of the new operation. “Our expansion in Ontario, and specifically in Innisfil, allows us to serve a broader customer base and contribute to the local economy.”

The new location is part of Canco Petroleum’s ongoing expansion into Ontario. Last year, Canaco opened a location in Barrie, Ontario on Bayfield Road (Ontario Highway 26) and another in downtown Port Hope, Ontario.
Rob Laing, director of operations at Canco Petroleum, said in an exclusive interview with OCTANE, that the company was ‘bullish’ about the opportunities in Ontario and was working with Fuel Partners to find locations for new operations. At the time, the company has opened two locations in the Greater Toronto Area: one in North York and another in Brampton. They join 14 sites across the province: Sarnia, Grand Bend, Mitchell, Clinton, Exeter, London, St. Thomas, Fonthill, Grimsby, Hamilton, Collingwood, Nipissing, Mission and Terrace Bay.
