The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario promises 'strong measures to enforce social responsibility and ensure a smooth transition to the new, expanded marketplace.'

LCBO makes most of its money as the primary alcohol wholesaler in the province rather than through its retail stores, says Premier.

If ratified, stores will reopen on Tuesday.

Grocery stores that are already licensed to sell beer and wine can start ordering RTD cocktails, as well as large packs of beer, to sell starting on Thursday.

Convenience stores can start selling beer, wine, cider and ready-to-drink cocktails on Sept. 5.
