Jones Soda Q2 revenue doubles to $10.2M, raises full-year expectations
Jones Soda Co. saw its second-quarter revenue more than double to $10.2 million, up 107.8% from $4.9 million during the same period last year.
The Canadian-founded, Seattle-based beverage maker attributed the sales growth mainly to higher shipments of its Fallout-branded drinks sold through warehouse club stores.
For the three months ended June 30, 2026, the company reported a net loss of $650,000, compared to net income of $2.6 million in the second quarter of 2025. The profit in the previous year was driven by a $3.7-million one-time gain from selling its cannabis business.
Rising costs and freight expenses
Gross profit margin dropped to 27.5% from 33.3% a year earlier. Company officials cited high global oil prices, which pushed up shipping and fuel costs, as the main cause. Jones Soda said it began lowering its delivery fees late in the quarter after re-bidding its primary shipping routes.
Chief executive officer Scott Harvey said product shipping delays moved roughly $2 million in expected earnings from the second quarter into the third quarter. Despite the shift, the company raised its full-year sales growth forecast from 80% to a minimum of 80%, up from an earlier target of 60%. Management also expects to post a profit before interest, taxes, and secondary accounting adjustments for the full year.
New products and retail expansion
During the quarter, Jones Soda expanded its product lineup and store reach.
The company introduced a zero-sugar craft soda line at club stores in Western Canada, and re-relased its Fallout Nuka Cola bottles following a quick initial sellout. Jones Soda also brought back a Crayola-branded cola set soda for the back-to-school season.
Jones also had its finger on the pulse of its fan base, by partnering with Rap Snacks to create a line of hip-hop-inspired craft sodas, with sales expected to start in 2027.
The company raised approximately $1.9 million through two stock sales to strengthen its cash position, which stood at $2.4 million on June 30.
