Two of Canada’s most popular loyalty program are coming together to give Canadians more chances to earn rewards and benefits.

Starting today, Petro-Canada’s Petro-Points and Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards members can now earn rewards from both programs at more than 1,800 Petro‑Canada and Gas+ sites across the country. There are currently more than 11 million active Triangle Rewards members, and 3 million active Petro‑Points members across Canada.

Members who link their accounts can now maximize benefits, including:

  • Earn both Petro‑Points and Canadian Tire Money (CT Money) with each fuel transaction, plus 20% more Petro‑Points
  • Convert Petro‑Points into CT Money
  • Redeem CT Money across Canadian Tire’s banners, including Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Mark’s and Party City

“We hope customers are as excited as we are about the great rewards and savings two of Canada’s trusted and iconic brands now offer together,” says Patrick Ritchie, vice-president of sales and marketing for Petro‑Canada.

“This is an exciting time for Petro‑Canada, a valuable part of Suncor’s integrated refining and marketing business,” adds Dave Oldreive, EVP of Downstream. “In addition to launching our linked loyalty program, we’ve also begun to supply fuel to the Gas+ network as part of a long-term supply agreement with our refineries and are preparing to rebrand more than 200 Gas+ sites to Petro‑Canada. These are all tangible examples of how we continue to evolve and strengthen our retail network so it’s resilient now and in the future.”

Over the next several years, more than 200 of Canadian Tire’s Gas+ retail fuel sites will be rebranded to Petro‑Canada stations, while maintaining Canadian Tire ownership. Over time, Suncor will also become the primary fuel provider to Canadian Tire’s fuel network.
