7-Eleven Canada celebrates summer with its iconic Slurpee
Summer is a time to relax, have fun and have a Slurpee. Canadians so love this summery drink that that 7-Eleven Canada has made it a tradition to give free Slurpee to celebrate the drink and summer—and this year, that day will be July 11.
And this year, the summer celebrations start early with $2 beverages and $1 chicken wings leading up to, and following, the special day.
How popular is Slurpee? The first Slurpee was poured in Canada was in Calgary in 1969 and now more than 40% of all Slurpees are sold during the summer months. Instead of flowers, Winnipeg residents often greet friends and family at the airport with Slurpee. The city drinks more Slurpee than anywhere else in the world.

No Slurpee is complete without a savoury treat, and 2025 data shows which Slurpee food pairing According to 7-Eleven Canada, Alberta, B.C. and Manitoba opt for Slurpee with The Taquito Monterey Chicken; Ontario prefers Slurpee with The Taquito Beef Taco & Cheese; and Saskatchewan is all about the Slurpee with Potato Wedges and Slurpee with Chicken Wing combos.
To sweeten the deal even further, Canadians can round up their summer transactions to the next dollar June 25 to August 26 to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network, with all donations supporting local children's hospital foundations.
