A Markham-based startup is betting on the future of electric vehicles with the launch of its first public fast-charging station and plans to build a network of 1,000 charging stations across Canada and the United States within five years.
Councillor Diana Dilworth said the Outpost’s transformation from a shuttered gas station to a temporary sales centre to community destination has been remarkable.
The latest round of bargaining comes amid difficult conditions for the sector as it copes with U.S. tariffs, uncertainty linked to the future of CUSMA, and the introduction of Chinese electric vehicles into Canada.
