Starbucks is rolling out its annual holiday menu on November 5, featuring fresh flavour innovations, returning seasonal staples and a collectible cup collection designed to draw holiday drivers off the road.

For c-stores located within or beside major plazas that house a Starbucks, seasonal menu launches are reliable traffic generators. Increased foot traffic from coffee runs frequently translates into secondary convenience sales, from grab-and-go snacks to automotive essentials.

New beverages driving seasonal excitement

This year, the coffee chain is introducing the Tiramisu Velvet beverage lineup, inspired by the classic Italian dessert. The offering includes the Tiramisu Velvet Latte, served either hot or iced, which blends signature espresso with milk and vanilla syrup before being finished with velvet mascarpone cold foam and cocoa dusting. Cold coffee drinkers can also choose the Tiramisu Velvet Cold Brew, which matches cold brew and vanilla syrup with the same mascarpone foam and cocoa finish.

Textures, flavour and customization

Tea and cold beverage drinkers also have new options on the board. The Iced Caramel brûlé Cream Chai combines chai, caramel sauce and crunchy caramel bits. Starbucks has leaned in to the popping pearls trend, possibly taking note of Tim Hortons summer's success with textured drinks. In the cold refresher category, the Apple Pomegranate Refresher pairs apple with trending popping pearls, similar to Tim Hortons poppin' quenchers. Customers can customize this drink as a citrusy lemonade blend or as the Snowy Apple version made with coconut beverage. Starbucks is offering these refreshers in caffeine-free, classic or energy boost varieties.

Festive favourites and holiday merchandise

Familiar holiday classics have returned: The Peppermint Mocha and Caramel Brûlé Latte are back across hot, iced and blended Frappuccino formats. Non-dairy and specialty tea fans will see the return of the Sugar Cookie Oat Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Cream Matcha, Gingerbread Chai and Iced Gingerbread Cream Chai topped with gingerbread cold foam and spices.

Customizable holiday cold foams will also be available across menus in Velvet Mascarpone, Gingerbread, Peppermint Chocolate, Sugar Cookie and Caramel brûlé flavours. As studies have shown, trends towards customized speciality drinks are booming, and adding a festive spin to these limited-time flavours creates more customer engagement.

On the retail and novelty front, Starbucks is bringing back its annual holiday cup collection with an added draw for pet owners on the road. For a limited time while supplies last, company-operated locations will distribute a limited-edition holiday Pup Cup. Travel centre operators know that pet travel surges during winter road trips, making pet-friendly promotions an effective lure for cross-country motorists looking for a complete travel break.
